The Meaning of Resurrection Sunday

The Events Following the Crucifixion

After the crucifixion on Good Friday, there was a moment of stillness on Saturday, a day of rest and observance for the Jewish people. The Sanhedrin had requested guards at the tomb to ensure that Jesus's body would not be stolen by His disciples, fearing they would falsely claim He had risen from the dead. The Resurrection: Accounts from the Gospels
